The ‘Rah Pre-School’, is an ‘English Immersion School’ which gives equal importance to Urdu. The school endeavours to provide a wholesome, secure and caring environment. Our goal is to ensure that by the time the children are ready to graduate from grade one, they, for their age, have a good grasp of spoken and written ‘English’; spoken and written ‘Urdu’, elementary concepts of ‘Arithmetic’ and have a basic ‘civic sense’.
A purpose built campus has been built at Lawrence Road, Lahore. It is centrally located, adjacent to the lush green ‘Jinnah Bagh’ and walking distance from the Lahore Zoo. The ‘Rah preschool’ envisions the provision of exemplary care and safety for the child. It is our endeavour to provide an enabling environment to nurture the child’s individual potential. The preschool parents are encouraged to interact with teachers, so that they remain in the loop.
Our approach is to make a child learn while at play and simultaneously develop his / her cognitive abilities. The curriculum and activities are centred on strengthening the foundations of a child. Education is imparted in a manner that ‘Playing becomes Learning’. Montessori and Conventional principles are applied to develop cognitive skills. Character building begins at a young age. Values are imparted to build character. It is taught that facilities in the use of a child, be it a class room, toilet, play area, eating place etc. be left after use, as one would want to find it, for ones’ own use. It is endeavoured that the teachers imparting education have a strong background. It is endeavoured to teach basic manners and values that hopefully shall stand by them for life.
Presentations – Children make presentations on selected topics. Such presentations can be animated or simply oral. These presentations are made to the class and at times to the school and rarely in attendance of the parents.
Montessori teaching method – Rah pre-school combines conventional teaching methods with activity based learning as given in the ‘Montessori method of teaching’ under supervision of teachers qualified in the Montessori method of teaching.
A child’s brain is like a sponge. It absorbs all information most effectively. This is the time where the child’s brain picks and retains the most. The school ensures that a wholesome and balanced activity based curriculum is implemented that ensures an all-round development of the child. We try that a child develops at his / her own pace and that he / she enjoys whatever activity based learning he / she is engaged in.
